What is Leith Social?

Leith Social is a comedy, music and entertainment evening produced and hosted by Gilded Balloon at The Pitt Market in Leith on Thursday evenings. There is a mixed bill of acts including comedy and music with food and drink available from The Pitt Market bars and award winning food vendors.

Where is the venue?

The Pitt is located at: 125-137 Pitt Street, Leith, EH6 4DE. The show will take place indoors, in the Pitt warehouse.

How do I book tickets?

The best place to book tickets is on the Gilded Balloon website here. If you would like to book a companion ticket or make a group booking please call our box office on 0131 622 6552. Phone lines are open Monday-Friday 10am-6pm.

My booking confirmation/e-ticket hasn’t arrived, what should I do?

Please make sure you double-check your spam and junk folders. If you still haven’t received it, please get in touch with us by emailing admin@gildedballoon.co.uk

Do I need to print my ticket?

Nope. This event is e-ticketed. Your booking confirmation email will include a QR code, which you will need to show on arrival at the venue. You can show this on your phone or tablet, or print it if you would prefer.

Is there an age limit?

Anyone age 16+ is welcome to the event. Under 18’s must be accompanied by an adult.

Can I buy food and drinks at the venue?

Yes. There is a full bar with a wide selection of beer from Barney’s Beer and wine from Smith & Gertrude plus plenty of soft drink options. There will be food from local street food stalls – see the menu here.

What time is the venue open?/What time does the show start/end?

Doors open at 6pm – arrive anytime from then to grab your seat and enjoy some food and drink before the show! The show starts at 7.30pm and finishes at approximately 9:45pm. The venue closes at 10pm.

Will there be an interval?

Yes, there’ll be a short break in the middle of the show.

What is the seating like?

Seating is benches and tables that hold up to 8 people. Please note that you may be required to share tables with other groups and we can’t guarantee that groups will be seated together. Seating is unreserved on a first come first served basis so we recommend arriving early to grab your choice of seat. The show is indoors, in the Pitt warehouse.

What accessible services are available at the venue?

We work hard to be as accessible and inclusive as possible.

  • If you need assistance on arrival or a particular seat please email admin@gildedballoon.co.uk and we’ll get back to you as soon as possible or call 0131 622 6552.
  • Please note there is a small step up (approx. 2 inches) at the front entrance of the venue. Seating is all on level ground.
  • The seats are backless shared benches, if you need an alternative please get in touch to let us know your requirements.
  • Pitt Street, where the venue is located, is a cobbled street and the pavements are uneven in places.
  • Please note that there is no disabled toilet at the venue. The existing male and female toilets have level access but there is not enough room for a wheelchair.
  • We provide complimentary companion tickets. Call our box office on 0131 622 6552 or email us on admin@gildedballoon.co.uk to book a companion ticket.

Can I bring my dog?

Yes. Well behaved dogs are welcome.

What COVID rules are in place at the venue?

In order to keep everyone safe the following mitigations are in place throughout the venue:

  • Staff wear masks at all times.
  • All patrons are asked to complete Track and Trace on arrival.
  • Patrons are asked to wear a mask while moving around the venue, you can take it off when you get to your seat.
  • Our staff and performers are asked to take a COVID19 test in advance of the event. We encourage ticket-holders to do the same in line with Scottish Government guidelines.
