The Rose Theatre was founded by esteemed ballet dancer and director Peter Schaufuss. The completed venue will bring four brand-new, mid-scale theatre spaces to Edinburgh’s city centre, with its Main Theatre space housing 300 seats. For the Fringe the Rose Theatre have partnered with the Gilded Balloon, who present an eclectic programme of over 40 productions at the new venue.

Now a year round venue Rose Theatre will house a curated selection of comedy, theatre and cabaret with a winter season programme beginning from the 23rd of October.

Our second studio space designed to house intimate immersive shows. Highlights from this year’s programme included Jay Lafferty, Volte Face, Mindy Raf and Rosco McClelland.

Similar to the Attic, our Studio space has been designed with smaller productions in mind. Highlights from this year’s programme included Mission Abort, The Giant Killers, Who Me and The Portable Dorothy Parker.

Basement

The second largest space at The Rose Theatre, a versatile space designed with variety in mind. Highlights from this year’s programme included Magic Nostalgic, Jocky Wilson Said, Class Clowns and Descent.
