Press & Marketing Deadlines 

5 May 2017  – Email press@gildedballoon.co.uk your first version of your press release and images.

5 June 2017  – Email marketing@gildedballoon.co.uk a low-res version of your poster/flyer for approval before sending to print AND Email press@gildedballoon.co.uk and update your press images and release(s).

Show Press Releases & Images

Please contact David Dey (press@gildedballoon.co.uk / 0131 622 6567) for press releases, press images, our Highlights at Gilded Balloon 2016 release, and any other queries regarding the full line-up of shows at Gilded Balloon this Festival Fringe.

From mid-July, full access will be made available here to a database containing releases and images for our entire programme. In the meantime, please get in touch – we love to hear from you!

Posters & Flyers

Your Design:

We allow PORTRAIT only A3 posters, and A5, A6 or DL flyers to be distributed around the venue. Please keep this in mind when designing them! Posters and flyers are you most valuable sales tool for your show so think carefully about the design to make sure they stand out from the thousands of others you will be competing with.

GB Banners:

We encourage you to use the GB BANNER or the GB / NMS BANNER (dependant on your venue) on the bottom of your promotional materials. This keeps all the important stuff together, making it very clear for audiences. The GB BANNERS have everything that you need on it already. Click here to download them…

DEADLINE: Please send your final design for proofing before you send it to print to marketing@gildedballoon.co.uk by 5 June 2017. Now you’ve got your design nailed – there are a number of ways you can get it seen!

Venue Distribution

Please ONLY send us:

  • 50 Portrait A3 Posters
  • 750 A6, A5 or DL Flyers

Posters larger than A3 will not be displayed in the venue. Deliver ONLY 50 posters and 750 flyers to us between Monday 24 July –  Friday 28 July  to the address below. Please note, if they are delivered any earlier  they will be returned to sender. Any uncollected excess left with us at the end of the festival, will be charged a fee for disposal. More info on further poster & flyer opportunities around our venues will be sent to you in June.

Performers or their agents MUST NOT attempt to put up extra posters / flyers around the venue. This goes for performers, managers, agents, street teams, family members, and any other enthusiastic supporters your show may have.

PLEASE NOTE: WE DO NOT HAVE SPACE TO STORE YOUR ENTIRE PRINT RUN. WE WILL ONLY ACCEPT THE AMOUNTS WE HAVE REQUESTED.

Press & Marketing Office

Open Daily 10am – 8pm (during the Fringe only)
Turn right after entering Teviot, go down one level (if you’re on the same level as the Nightclub, you’ve gone down one too many sets of steps). Turn left at bottom of the stairs and the Press & Marketing Office is straight in front of you (next to lower entrance to Library Bar).

On first arriving at Teviot, after visiting the Management office, please make your way to the Press & Marketing Office, where the press team can help and advise on press, marketing and publication issues and questions.

Our Press Launch will be held on Thursday 3rd August at Teviot. There will be a reception commencing at 5pm in the New Amphion Café with the a preview show featuring a selection of Performers from the Gilded Balloon programme in the Debating Hall starting at 6pm. All the media are invited so it is important that all companies are there. Karen Koren will be programming this show and will approach the performers directly for this year.

Press Tickets

Press tickets can be requested from July. More information on how to request tickets will be available here then.

Press tickets for all of our shows (at Teviot, and the Museum) can be collected from the Gilded Balloon Press Office in Teviot Row House between 10am-8pm, daily during the Fringe. After 8pm, press tickets can be collected from the main box office inside Teviot.
